Attires

        Traditional clothing for women is the saris, salwar and also Ghaghra Cholis (Lehengas). For men, traditional clothes are the Dhoti, Black coat, pancha/ veshti or Kurta. But Men these days usually wear a trouser along with a shirt. Traditional clothes are still worn in traditional ceremonies. Many women wear earrings, nose ornaments and brightly colored bangles. Some paint a dot of color or apply a readymade Bindi, on their foreheads. The bindi is also a fashion statement and may be matching to the color of the dress or to the personality. Also more and more youth are taking to western wear.

Dhoti and Black coat: Dhoti kurta is the traditional KM clothing of men. Unlike other dresses, it is an unstitched piece of cloth usually 5 yards long that is tied around the waist and legs. The knot is tied at the waist. Most of older people continue to wear the traditional black coat

Kurta : Kurta is a term used to refer to a long loose shirt, the length of which falls below or may be just above the knees of the wearer. In the olden times, it was primarily worn by men.

Navwari sari : A Navwari sari is a strip of unstitched cloth, its nine metres in length that is draped over the body in various styles.

Sari : Sari is one of the most wonderful dresses worn by women. A sari is a strip of unstitched cloth, ranging from four to nine metres in length that is draped over the body in various styles. The most common style is for the sari to be wrapped around the waist, with one end then draped over the shoulder baring the midriff.
